Philips Fidelio AW9000 speakers

For almost 10 years we have been using the Philips Fidelio AW9000 speakers in our living room. They are a great set of speakers that produce a nice full sound. One of the reasons to buy these speakers back in the days was that they could be controlled over Wifi and also could play music from a DLNA/UPnP source, such as MediaTomb.

To support Airplay - for our Apple devices - I connected a HifiBerry Digi to the digital input of the speakers. All worked very well, especially thanks to the Shairport-Sync software.

Now the power button started flashing franticly, and that is the only sign of life. So, time to have a look inside.

There are several PCB boards that are connected with flat cables and other cables.

Moving the flat cables out of the way, shows that there is one pair of wires running to the speakers, inside.

Would it make sense to try to revive these speakers, or better to invest in something new?
